Using WriteToReply to form your response to this consultation
WriteToReply provides a method for publishing, reading and responding to documents on the web at the paragraph level. Documents are fully searchable and tagged using rich semantic metadata retreived from Reuter’s OpenCalais service.
We encourage you to comment directly on this site but likewise we also hope that individual readers and organisations will use WriteToReply as a web addressable source document when forming a response to the consultation.
Documents are divided into sections allowing readers to navigate backwards and forwards through each section or go directly to the section via the Table of Contents on the front page. Each section of the document has a unique web address allowing you to link to a specific document section when forming a response from your own website.
Moreover, each paragraph of the document has a unique web address allowing you to link to a specific paragraph in the document when forming a response from your website. By linking directly to the paragraph URL, your readers can click through to the relevant point in the consultation document and optionally leave their own response to the same paragraph.
To find the paragraph URL, simply click on the speech bubble next to the paragraph and copy the URL from your browser location bar. It will look something like this example:
http://writetoreply.org/refconsultation/panel-structure-and-consistency/#3
Further information for citing, linking or embedding the paragraph can be found by hovering your pointer over the paragraph number (in progress).
If your website provides trackbacks, then by linking to the document on WriteToReply, your response will leave a trackback on the document republished here. Currently, all trackbacks are received at the document section level, although we intend to introduce paragraph-level trackbacks in the near future.
